Care Guide

Every Navessio garment is designed with thoughtful construction—embellishments, layered fabrics, and tailored silhouettes that deserve a little extra attention. This guide offers general maintenance steps for the types of pieces in our collection. Always check the care label sewn into your specific garment and the product page description first; those instructions take priority over anything written here.

Before You Clean: Check Your Label

Most Navessio pieces include a sewn-in care label inside the garment, typically at the left side seam or beneath the inner lining. If you cannot find a label, refer back to the product page where the item was listed. Because our collection spans evening gowns, knit sets, printed separates, and layered occasion pieces, care methods vary from item to item—there is no single approach that fits everything.

Handling Embellishments and Delicate Surfaces

Several of our designs feature dimensional details that require gentle treatment during any cleaning process:

  • 3D floral appliqués and beading — avoid rubbing or pressing directly against these raised elements. If hand-treating a spot, work from the base fabric outward, keeping pressure off the applique surface.
  • Metallic-sheen pleated overlays — do not fold creases against their natural direction, and avoid contact with rough surfaces that could snag or flatten the pleats.
  • Lace trim and sheer sleeves — keep away from Velcro, zippers, or jewelry that can catch threads. When layering for storage, place a soft cloth between the lace and any hardware.
  • Buckle and hardware accents — wipe metal surfaces with a dry, soft cloth after wear to remove oils from skin. Do not apply liquid cleaners directly to hardware.

Addressing Spills and Stains

If a spill occurs, act quickly but conservatively:

  1. Blot (do not rub) the excess liquid with a clean, white, absorbent cloth.
  2. If the fabric type is known from the label, follow any spot-clean guidance provided there.
  3. For unknown stains or delicate construction, stop and consult a professional cleaner rather than experimenting with solvents, hot water, or aggressive scrubbing.

Testing any cleaning product on a hidden seam allowance is a cautious step, not a guarantee that the full garment will tolerate the same treatment.

Storing Between Wears

Proper storage preserves shape and prevents damage to embellished pieces:

  • Maxi gowns and column dresses — hang on padded hangers to avoid shoulder creasing. Allow the skirt to hang free without compression against closet walls.
  • Knit sets and cardigans — fold rather than hang to prevent stretching at the shoulders. Store in a drawer or shelf where they are not crushed under heavier items.
  • Pleated or structured pieces — keep flat or hang without folding the pleated section. Avoid stacking other garments on top.
  • Keep all stored items away from direct sunlight, which can affect printed colors and fabric finishes over time, and away from damp areas that encourage mildew.

When to Seek Professional Help

Consider a qualified garment cleaner or repair specialist if:

  • A stain persists after gentle blotting.
  • An embellishment is loose, missing, or damaged.
  • A zipper, button, or closure mechanism is malfunctioning.
  • The care label is missing or unreadable and you are unsure how to proceed.

Do not attempt to reattach beads, repair torn lace, or fix structural damage at home unless you have relevant experience.
